According to the myth, the goddess of beauty was born from sea foam created from Uranus’s castrated genitals that Kronos had thrown into the sea. This story binds the symbol of Venus with fertility and power. It also reveals a side of beauty, attraction, and femininity that is gruesome and vile.

Two points of Italian history inspired this project: a renaissance painting by Botticelli The Birth of Venus and the Anti-Design movement from the '60s.
